La Financière de l’Echiquier appoints a Head of European Sales
Paris, 18.01.2024 ǀ As part of its ambitious development plan, La Financière de l’Echiquier (LFDE) announces the appointment of John Korter as Head of European Sales, effective 1 January 2024. Country Manager for Germany and Austria since 2018, John Korter now has a team of 9 people under his responsibility.
John Korter’s role is to intensify development in Europe, which currently accounts for around 16% of LFDE’s assets outside France. This development is also a strategic priority for LBP AM, which will rely on the platforms developed by LFDE in nine European countries – Germany, Austria, Benelux, Switzerland, Italy, Spain and Portugal – and for more than a decade in certain areas. The new entity aims to position itself as a European leader in multi-specialist conviction-based management and sustainable finance. At the end of December 2023, the Group had consolidated assets under management of €67.8 billion.

John Korter, Head of European Sales at LFDE, said: “I am looking forward to this new challenge. The depth of range offered by the new LFDE further enhances this expertise, particularly in the credit market and real assets. Our strategy will initially focus on German-speaking countries, Belgium and Luxembourg, as well as Spain and Italy.”
About John Korter
John Korter began his career with Société Générale Luxembourg as a currency trader in 1995. He has extensive experience of the German, Austrian, Swiss and Luxembourg markets, notably with Carmignac Gestion Luxembourg (2005-2012) and Ethenea (2012-2018). He joined LFDE in 2018 as Country Manager for Germany and Austria. He was appointed Head of European Sales in 2024. A dual German-Belgian national, John is a graduate of the University of Trier (Germany) and the European Management School in Strasbourg.
