La Financière de l'Échiquier commits to biodiversity

Pioneer in responsible investment in France, La Financière de l’Echiquier (LFDE) signs the call for Finance for Biodiversity Pledge. The aim of this engaging initiative is to mobilize financial institutions for biodiversity.

To date, this collaborative commitment has brought together nearly 40 international institutions, including Caisse des Dépôts et Consignations, representing €3 trillion in assets under management. This call to world leaders comes ahead of the 15th Conference of the Parties (COP 15) signatories to the “Convention on Biological Diversity” scheduled for May 2021.

This initiative is part of the formalization of LFDE’s climate strategy, whose operational deployment is in progress. This strategy will involve the training of its managers and all teams and a thorough integration of the climate into LFDE’s risk management policy.

As part of the Finance for Biodiversity Pledge, by 2024 LFDE committed to integrating biodiversity criteria into its analyzes, measuring the impact of its investments and publishing them in a transparent manner.

Bettina Ducat, Chief Executive Officer of La Financière de l’Echiquier, states:

The urgency of safeguarding biodiversity is, just like climate change, a major challenge. The mobilization of LFDE in favor of Finance for Biodiversity Pledge and listed impact investment demonstrates our desire to strengthen our engagement with companies, which are essential links in safeguarding biodiversity.
