Record net inflows of 1.7 billion euros in 2020 for La Financière de l’Echiquier, which continues to expand in Europe and among institutional clients

La Financière de l’Echiquier (LFDE) turned in a historic performance in 2020, with net inflows of 1.72 billion, easily beating the record it had set in 2007, its best year since it was founded 30 years ago, in 1991. LFDE now has 12.2 billion euros in assets under management, up from 9.5 billion on 31 December 2019, a huge, 28% increase on the year.

These numbers were achieved in a challenging and unprecedented environment and therefore reflect not only LFDE’s remarkable performances, but also the quality of its client relationships and the care it takes in maintaining them. They also reflect the success of LFDE’s strategy of distributing its solutions more widely in Europe and balancing out its clientele between institutional and retail clients. In fact, 36% of LFDE’s 2020 inflows came from outside France, mainly Germany, Switzerland and the Benelux, and institutional clients are increasingly placing their trust in LFDE, now accounting for almost 50% of inflows.

LFDE’s net inflows are spread out evenly throughout its fund range. Distribution was especially heavy in SRI, small and mid cap, and thematic strategies:

With 6 billion euros under management, LFDE’s SRI and Impact offerings account for almost 51% of its total AuM. Net inflows here came to 1.3 billion euros;
A net 1.1 billion euros flowed into European small and mid cap strategies in 2020;
Led by Echiquier World Next Leaders, international and thematic equity funds alone achieved net inflows of more than 900 million euros in 2020.
