Social innovation at Financière de l’Echiquier

employees are proud to share their time and talent with community projects

Since July 2012, Financière de l’Echiquier employees have offered 800 working hours to Social and Solidarity Economy.

Paris, 7 November 2013 – Financière de l’Echiquier, one of France’s leading independent asset management firms, places innovation at the heart of its philanthropic actions.

An innovative funding scheme has been set up for the Fondation Financière de l’Echiquier, which backs the development of social integration projects based on working, training and education. 90 % of its budget stems for the sharing of management fees from the Echiquier Excelsior fund and the “Partage” share of the emblematic Agressor fund.

Since July 2012, Financière de l’Echiquier has gone a step further by adding to this revenue-sharing tool a new initiative to share working time, never seen before in the asset management universe in France. The company enables its employees to spend up to five days a year outside its offices, working for organisations backed by the Fondation Financière de l’Echiquier. So far, each member of staff has spent an average of 10 hours with one of the associations that was able to benefit from an input of professional skills (management, communication, accounting, development) or personal abilities (help with homework, painting, sorting etc.).

“This implication adds a human dimension to the financial backing provided. It is beneficial to both the associations supported and our staff members who have chosen to be involved with them,” pointed out Didier le Menestrel, Chairman of Financière de l’Echiquier, who calls calls for “all finance professionals to combine economic logic with solidarity”.
