LFDE launches the Tocqueville Europe Strategic Tech SRI fund in Luxembourg
Channelling savings towards companies that are building Europe’s technological and industrial foundations is vital for the continent’s economic independence, innovation and stability. To address this challenge, La Financière de l’Échiquier (LFDE) is announcing the launch in Luxembourg of its Tocqueville Europe Strategic Tech SRI fund,[1] a strategy targeting the best European technology opportunities to meet sovereignty challenges. This solution is one of the strategies managed within LFDE’s technology division, which has €1.7 billion in assets under management.[2]
This conviction-based equity strategy adapts to different market cycles and is based on an investment process focused on generating ideas to identify tomorrow’s technology leaders. Within a universe of around 400 stocks, Tocqueville Europe Strategic Tech SRI focuses on 35 to 50 conviction-driven stocks that contribute to strengthening European sovereignty. This diversified portfolio invests primarily in sectors of the digital economy and those whose growth is fuelled by major technological advances. It is built on five thematic pillars:
- Defence tech │including cybersecurity, a cornerstone of European strategic autonomy, military equipment and space defence, a sector expected to be worth $250 billion by 2035.[3]
- Tech companies │including semiconductors, a global market expected to be worth $1 trillion by 2030.[4]
- Consumer tech │including communication networks and personal devices.
- Health tech │including surgical robots, medical instruments and equipment.
- Green tech│including energy efficiency, transport and energy storage.
“At a time when European industrial, technological, energy and security sovereignty is emerging as a strategic necessity, it is vital to mobilise the financial ecosystem. As an investor in companies for nearly 35 years, LFDE continues to address the major challenges of our time by supporting strategic innovation and European sovereignty through the Tocqueville Europe Strategic Tech SRI fund,” said Michel Saugné, CIO of La Financière de l’Échiquier (LFDE).
“We are delighted to be expanding our offering for Luxembourg investors with our Tocqueville Europe Strategic Tech SRI fund. We believe this solution has a clear place within investment portfolios to capture the structural growth opportunities linked to European technological sovereignty,” said Stéphane Van Tilborg, Country Head Benelux, LFDE.
