Our investment team has substantial experience and in-depth knowledge of the markets on which they operate. Our 35 managers and analysts forge their convictions on the ground, close to companies, in search of the best investment opportunities. The Responsible Investment Research team is a cornerstone of our approach in terms of training, support and leadership, and as such is a hallmark of our management structure.

Chief Investment Officer
Olivier de Berranger is a graduate of HEC. Since 1990, he has successively fulfilled the positions of trader and trading desk manager on derivatives and cash interest rate products at Crédit Lyonnais and Calyon. He then became manager for the Capital Markets sector at First Finance, a consulting and training company. He joined La Financière de l’Echiquier in March 2007 as a bond manager. He is specifically in charge of the bond component of Echiquier Patrimoine fund and manages Echiquier ARTY and Echiquier Credit Europe. In 2017 he is nominated Chief Investment Officer and becomes part of the Management Committee. In April 2019, he also became Deputy CEO.

With a PhD in applied mathematics, a Master’s degree in market finance and capital management and a postgraduate degree (DEA Laure Elie) in statistics and random modelling, Matthieu is also an actuary. He began his career in 2002 at Oddo & Cie as a quantitative analyst for derivative products before joining Natixis AM with responsibility for financial engineering. In 2008 he joined EDRAM to set up a financial engineering department and then in 2013 created SIMAFIN (Société d'Ingénierie Mathématique et Financière), a provider of quantitative solutions. At Montpensier Finance, Matthieu works on core investment processes and the development of decision-making tools and methods. He joined La Financière de l’Echiquier in 2017 as Deputy Chief Investment Officer.

Portfolio manager at Indosuez Asset Management, Crédit Agricole Asset Management and Oddo Asset Management, she then spent 7 years in Geneva at Pascal Investment Advisers. Stéphanie Bobtcheff joined La Financière de l’Echiquier in September 2013 as a portfolio manager in the small and mid-cap team.

After a diploma in chartered accounting and a DESS postgraduate degree in tax law, José Berros joined the audit firm of Ernst & Young before moving to HSBC Private Bank where he was a director and responsible of the holdings of a capital investment fund. He joined La Financière de l’Echiquier in 2005, where he managed the Echiquier Neteor fund and then the Echiquier Junior fund. He is now a portfolio manager in the small and mid-cap team.

In 2005, he became an analyst for the hardware and semiconductor sector. In 2012 he became a member of the global portfolio management team of Alliance Trust Investments before joining the Sustainability Investment Team. In 2016 he became the co-manager for global funds. Adrien was appointed partner at Lion Trust asset management when it acquired ATI. In 2017 he joined La Financière de l’Echiquier as co-manager of Echiquier Major SRI Growth Europe.

Graduate from IESEG and holder of an MA in Finance and Investment from Nottingham University, Maxime Lefebvre, CFA, started his career in 2003 as a marketing officer at Amundi in Hong-Kong and then at La Française des Placements in Paris. In 2007, after passing the CFA, he joined the portfolio management team of La Française des placements and spent 5 years as a portfolio manager in European equities. He moved in 2014 to La Banque Postale Gestion Privée, as a portfolio manager, where he developed a specific know-how on "value" stocks. Maxime Lefebvre joined La Financière de l'Echiquier in 2015, in order to strengthen our "value" team.

After working as a sell-side analyst at CM-CIC Securities before turning to audit (KPMG), Romain Ruffenach joined SMA Gestion in 2013, in the Equity Long Only unit. Romain notably became manager of the company’s benchmark European equity fund. A graduate of Audencia Business School, Romain also holds a Master of Finance degree from the Ohio State University Fischer College of Business. He joined La Financière de l’Echiquier in 2018 as co-manager of Echiquier Value Euro.

With a Master's degree in Finance from Paris 1 Panthéon Sorbonne and 20 years of experience, Paul Merle, CIIA, started in 2001 at CPR Bank as Results Controller, before joining Federis Gestion d'Actifs in 2003, where he became Head of SRI analysis in 2010. In 2016, Paul Merle joined La Banque Postale Asset Management as SRI manager-analyst and became Fund Manager of Sustainable Thematic Equities in January 2019. He joined La Financière de l'Echiquier in 2020 as co-manager of Echiquier Climate Impact Europe and Echiquier Major SRI Growth Europe.

Since March 2020, he became senior analyst of the Echiquier Agressor fund, then in January 2021, fund manager of Echiquier Patrimoine.

In 2018, she joined La Financière de l'Echiquier’s Middle Office team and became in October 2021 Portfolio manager assistant in the Small & Mid caps investment team.

He has acquired his equity management experience over 20 years, notably at US Trust, Citi Private Bank and then Chevy Chase Trust Investment Advisors as a Director and emerging market fund manager. He joined La Financière de l’Echiquier’s Global team in September 2014.

From Bolivia with a degree in finance from IAE Lyon school of business, Rolando Grandi began his career at Roche-Brune AM as an international equity analyst before becoming co-manager in 2015. Rolando joined La Financière de l’Echiquier in 2017 and became Fund Manager of Echiquier World Next Leaders, co-Manager of Echiquier World Equity Growth and launched Echiquier Artifical Intelligence, the first French investment fund on this thematic. In 2021, he launched the first thematic fund in Europe focused on space and its ecosystem: Echiquier Space.

She began her career in 1998 at UBS as an investment banker before joining Fortis Investments as a fund manager-analyst in 2002. Nina has then worked as an international equity manager at Crédit Agricole Asset Management, then at Amundi, at Gemway Assets and finally at La Française. Nina joined La Financière de l'Echiquier in 2022 as co-manager of the international equity fund Echiquier World Equity Growth.

In June 2006, he helped to create Acropole AM, the leading French management company specialised in convertible bonds. Following the merger with La Financière de l’Echiquier in March 2013, he took over as head of convertible bond fund management.

A graduate of the Toulouse Business School, Guillaume Jourdan worked for nine years at ADI (2000-2009) and also at Montpensier Finance as a convertible bond manager. He joined La Financière de l’Echiquier in 2014 to strengthen the Convertible Bond team and round out its expertise. Guillaume has also been fund manager of Echiquier ARTY SRI since July 2017 and fund manager of Echiquier AltaRocca Convertibles since July 2018. Since March 2020, he became fund manager of the Echiquier Agressor. In January 2021, he became Head of the "best of" equity portfolio.

From Argentina, Uriel Saragusti studied economics at the University of Buenos Aires and has a Master’s degree in economics and finance from Paris Dauphine University. He began his career as a junior analyst at Dexia Crédit Local. He then went to BNP Paribas Asset Management, where he worked as a buy-side credit analyst for a year, before joining La Financière de l'Echiquier in October 2013. In July 2017, in addition to his analyst role on Echiquier ARTY SRI, Uriel is nominated fund manager of Echiquier Credit SRI Europe. In January 2021, he became fund manager on Echiquier Patrimoine and Echiquier Short Term Credit.

Matthieu holds a Master degree from EM Lyon Business School and a master's degree in business and tax law from Bordeaux University, He began his career in 2011 as an LBO analyst at Crédit Agricole CIB, then a high-yield credit analyst at Fitch Ratings, and gained experience in asset management at AltaRocca AM as a senior analyst before joining La Financière de l’Echiquier in March 2018. In January 2019, he became fund manager of Echiquier Altarocca Rendement 2023, then in January 2021, fund manager of Echiquier AltaRocca Hybrid Bonds.
Aurélien Jacquot has a Magistère degree in Banking, Finance and Insurance from Université Paris Dauphine. In 2013, he joined the Fitch Ratings Graduate Program as an analyst in the Corporate department’s Leverage Finance team in London. Aurélien then gained expertise in automotive sector analysis by joining the team focused on EMEA-based industrial sectors, firstly in London and then in Paris. Aurélien was promoted regularly, rising from analyst to Director within the same team. In June 2021, Aurélien Jacquot joined La Financière de l’Echiquier as a Senior Credit Analyst within the Credit management team. During his studies, he also completed several internships, including as an Equity Research Analyst at Natixis.

A graduate of EISTI (engineering school specialising in financial mathematics and IT) and ESSEC, Antoine Daligaux began his career first in the actuarial department of Allianz life insurance then at actuarial consultancy Optimind Winter. He followed this by a year-long apprenticeship in real estate investing at the Caisse des Dépôts et Consignations, before joining La Financière de l’Echiquier in October 2018 as equity analyst in balanced funds. He became analyst of Echiquier Agressor in 2021.

He joined La Financière de l’Echiquier in 2014 to strengthen the Convertible Bond team and round out its expertise. Guillaume has also been fund manager of Echiquier ARTY SRI since July 2017 and fund manager of Echiquier AltaRocca Convertibles since July 2018. Since March 2020, he became fund manager of the Echiquier Agressor. In January 2021, he became Head of the "best of" equity portfolio.

From Argentina, Uriel Saragusti studied economics at the University of Buenos Aires and has a Master’s degree in economics and finance from Paris Dauphine University. He began his career as a junior analyst at Dexia Crédit Local. He then went to BNP Paribas Asset Management, where he worked as a buy-side credit analyst for a year, before joining La Financière de l'Echiquier in October 2013. In July 2017, in addition to his analyst role on Echiquier ARTY SRI, Uriel is nominated fund manager of Echiquier Credit SRI Europe. In January 2021, he became fund manager on Echiquier Patrimoine and Echiquier Short Term Credit.

Matthieu holds a Master degree from EM Lyon Business School and a master's degree in business and tax law from Bordeaux University, He began his career in 2011 as an LBO analyst at Crédit Agricole CIB, then a high-yield credit analyst at Fitch Ratings, and gained experience in asset management at AltaRocca AM as a senior analyst before joining La Financière de l’Echiquier in March 2018. In January 2019, he became fund manager of Echiquier Altarocca Rendement 2023, then in January 2021, fund manager of Echiquier AltaRocca Hybrid Bonds.
Aurélien Jacquot has a Magistère degree in Banking, Finance and Insurance from Université Paris Dauphine. In 2013, he joined the Fitch Ratings Graduate Program as an analyst in the Corporate department’s Leverage Finance team in London. Aurélien then gained expertise in automotive sector analysis by joining the team focused on EMEA-based industrial sectors, firstly in London and then in Paris. Aurélien was promoted regularly, rising from analyst to Director within the same team. In June 2021, Aurélien Jacquot joined La Financière de l’Echiquier as a Senior Credit Analyst within the Credit management team. During his studies, he also completed several internships, including as an Equity Research Analyst at Natixis.

A graduate of EISTI (engineering school specialising in financial mathematics and IT) and ESSEC, Antoine Daligaux began his career first in the actuarial department of Allianz life insurance then at actuarial consultancy Optimind Winter. He followed this by a year-long apprenticeship in real estate investing at the Caisse des Dépôts et Consignations, before joining La Financière de l’Echiquier in October 2018 as equity analyst in balanced funds. He became analyst of Echiquier Agressor in 2021.

A graduate of the Ecole Normale Supérieure de Lyon (ex-Fontenay-Saint Cloud), professor and PhD in philosophy, Alexis manages several funds including Echiquier Stamina Patrimoine. He joined Stamina AM in 2006 as a fund picker. Prior to that, he was a teacher and researcher in probability theories, hence his interest in the subject of risk, notably financial. Alexis joined La Financière de l’Echiquier in March 2018.

Benjamin has a master's degree in market finance from CNAM. After acquiring substantial experience from different departments of the Rivoli Fund Management, he joined the Primonial group in 2008 as a quantitative analyst. He accordingly contributed to developing quantitative strategies. In 2009, he is in charge of quantitative funds modelling and manages several allocation funds and mandates. Benjamin joined the Asset Allocation team of La Financière de l’Echiquier in March 2018 as an allocation fund manager and he is specialised in financial engineering and decision support tools.

In 2011, he joined the quantitative management team as an analyst. He subsequently became a member of the conviction management team in the summer of 2013 as a fund manager and fund picker. He joined La Financière de l’Echiquier in March 2018.
