La Financière de l’Echiquier, patron of the French National Museum of Natural History

La Financière de l’Echiquier (LFDE) is proud to become a patron of the National Museum of Natural History in Paris. Presided over by Bruno David, this iconic institution is the gold standard in the study of natural sciences and ecology and biodiversity in particular.

LFDE is supporting the “Environmentally friendly concrete from marine sediments” research project dedicated to the creation of artificial reefs that help promote marine biodiversity. To achieve this, scientists will make use of biomimicry. This engineering process, inspired by living things, reconciles industrial activities and economic development with the preservation of natural resources and biodiversity.

The sponsorship scheme is part of LFDE’s action to protect biodiversity, which is particularly reflected in its commitment to the Finance for Biodiversity Pledge. Bruno David, President of the National Museum of Natural History, will be the guest of honour at the first LFDE Climate and Biodiversity Meetings. This unique initiative in the Paris financial marketplace will bring together climate experts and companies at the end of November to stimulate discussion on good practices.

Bettina Ducat, Managing Director of La Financière de l’Echiquier stated:

La Financière de l’Echiquier is passionate about integrating biodiversity into its undertakings. Supporting a research project steered by such a prestigious institution as the National Museum of Natural History ties in with our climate strategy and reflects our ambition to become a force for innovation in the fight against declining biodiversity.

Olivier de Berranger, Deputy CEO and Chief Investment Officer of La Financière de l’Echiquier, added:

Asset management has a key role in the struggle to reverse the deterioration in biodiversity, a challenge both for the planet and for companies. To our knowledge, Echiquier Climate Impact Europe¹ is to date the only climate fund to integrate biodiversity issues². A major focus that is bound to be intensified.
